Easter 2010

Easter is a good time to assess where we are as a country. America used to be obviously religious. Now the ACLU forces us to question whether we’re religious at all…

Let’s upset the American Criminal Lawyers Union and take stock every year on this Holy Day…

Here are some of the more important stories that compose modern life in 2010:

1) The most important thing to the navel-gazing American, of course, is the iPad. Naysayers mock it, Geeks love it. The big debate is whether it will change your life. How about a median course? It’s cool. And it won’t really change anything…

2) RUSSIA: Putin’s war against the Muslim insurgents escalates. The Soviet Union may have fallen, but the Cold War continues. Except, we’re pretending it’s not and Russia is our ally. He has his own problems dealing with Muslim terrorist attacks – allowing him the rationale to double down on his tyrannical grip on Russia. He’s also coalescing energy allies with Venezuela, Iran and North Korea, or as I like to call them, the axis of @$$holes…

3) Obama’s influence is waning. The republicans are prepping for a big win this November, but they may be over-confident. Especially because there are fringe elements in the party who blame our losses on moderate Republicans, and threatening to split into a third party. Surprisingly, Sarah Palin is working to bring everyone together, while Glenn Beck and others are working to break it apart. There are few who truly understand how precarious our November wins are…

4) Immigration Reform: Resident Obama is betting that this will bring him back to life – whether it brings the Democrat party back is inconsequential. Better yet, it is the best tactic to divide the Republican party. McCain tried to push real bipartisan reform and utterly failed while enraging the GOP base against him, and ensuring the failure of his later prez run. This is not lost on Obama. He partly won his first term because of bipartisan immigration amnesty efforts, and I think he’s counting on winning another term for the same reason…

5) Healthcare: It has passed, but is extremely unpopular. The public seems incensed, but also bored with the subject. The GOP needs to keep the passion going, without boring the public on a pretty wonky issue that won’t have a great effect on the American economy for years…

6) Iran’s Nukes. The rest of the world is acting surprised that we don’t trust Iran to accurately state it’s intentions with its purifying of Uranium. The Persians have always had a chip on their shoulder, and I don’t think any fondness for stabilization of the region would keep them from trying to gain nuclear prominence. If for nothing else, than to snub its nose at America, and to frighten it’s neighbors, Iran will pursue nukes unless Israel attacks them. Which they will…

7) There will be a major jihadist attack on America within the next three years of Obama’s term. He has stupidly crippled our ability to defend ourselves from terrorist attacks, under the misguided guise of appearing a citizen of the world. Guess what? The world doesn’t care, and won’t love us no matter how much we apologize. But our enemies will take advantage of our weakness….

8 ) With Obama’s influence waning, so has American influence. Other presidents could have made America something above and beyond them, but Obama has America all about himself. And he’s failing. So, America fails. The next president will have to deal with that fallout in the same way Bush had to deal with Clinton’s idiotic cut in defense spending….

I’m sure I missed a few other items.. if you can think of any, comment!

I hope everyone has a blessed Easter surrounded by loving family and friends.
Lend a thought and a prayer to the country that gives us the freedom to celebrate according to our conscience, and to each brave soldier who defends that country.
But most of all…
Give thanks to our Lord for His divine Mercy through His Son, the greatest sacrifice on the Cross, and the miraculous resurrection of Easter…

Christ is RISEN!!!!
