Oslo Terrorist – Was He a Christian Conservative?

Just what is Anders Behring Breivik? The news media is now labeling him a conservative Christian right-wing extremist, and the leftist blogophere is savoring every moment.

But labels often hide lazy generalizations.

With this monster, he left us a generous manifesto to let us peer into his motives for his evil deeds. What do they tell us about Anders?

MEDIA CONTROL

In the Oslo terrorist’s Manifesto, Rupert Murdoch’s media empire is identified as one of the problems with Europe:

The situation is similar in Western Europe. In the UK, News International (a company mostly owned by Rupert Murdoch) owns several newspapers (including The Times and The Sun), Sky Television (a major European satellite operator), Star Television (covering Asia) and publishers like Harper Collins.

In 1998, Rupert Murdoch owned 34% of the daily newspapers and 37% of the Sunday newspapers in the UK. Successive UK governments have allowed his empire to grow in return for his media’s support. (pg. 381)

So is it the right-wing who hates Rupert Murdoch? The American Left is already trying to pin the awful events in Oslo on the Right, including ridiculous assertions that Sarah Palin was admired by the murderer.

Why not pin the blame on those who spout hate rhetoric against Rupert Murdoch? Al Gore’s cable channel set their semi-rational attack poodle Keith Olbermann on Rupert Murdoch’s testimony before the British inquiry into the News of the World scandal. Maybe his hate rhetoric inspired Breivik?

This earlier post details two sections which make the murderer seems like an environmental extremist.

STATE CONTROL

In this next section, Anders advocates the nationalization of companies, that is, that the state take over private companies – sound like a Tea Party platform to you?

All globalist companies will be nationalised (a minimum of 50,1% ownership must be redistributed to EF governments hands (combined) at any given time, for their respective countries). Investors with majority control who refuse this re-nationalisation process will have their respective corporation expelled from the European Federation monetary zone (losing trading concessions). Ensuring state control is the only way to avoid that globalist capitalist political lobby groups continue to negatively influence European policies relation to immigration and multiculturalism. (pg. 1200)

AMERICAN CAPITALISM

On page 1223, Anders even criticizes American capitalism, with some interesting, and oft-quoted statistics (by the Left anyway):

I never thought I would actually argue against capitalism but the US model is an extreme variant, almost resembling a pure laissez faire model. 83 percent of all U.S. stocks are now in the hands of 1 percent of the people. 66 percent of the income growth between 2001 and 2007 went to the top 1% of all Americans.

My purpose is not to refute this view of wealth distribution in America, but to say that going by this section, you could just as easily blame Left wing propaganda for his hatred.

AMERICAN INFLUENCE

On page 1235, the manifesto lists their school of thought as being “Against excessive US cultural influence” and “Against US military bases/US military personnel on European soil.” Right out of the Tea Party talking points right? Let me answer that for you – no, not really.

In this same section, the Manifesto supports Russian nationalism, as well as Chinese nationalism. Not something you find in either Christian, Teaparty, or Conservative platforms much, but that which you will find in some leftist thought.

AMERICAN IMPERIALISM

Further, on page 1297, the Manifesto channels Howard Zinn and Noam Chomsky, when it gives us the “real reasons” underlying American foreign policy:

Reason 1: The reason given by the USA, its media and its friends around the world. Reasons like Communism, Terrorism, Fascism, Human Rights, Freedom, Liberation, Weapons of Mass Destruction, etc.

Reason 2: The actual reason. This is usually hidden from the general public and has to be looked for in quotes by under-reported officials or subsequent events on the ground. Often, the victims of the intervention/change of government know the real reasons better than the populations of the Western countries. Real reasons are many but usually include Business Interests, Access to Resources, Markets, Military Bases, Strategic Value, or Political Support.

It even goes so far as to assert that the US would wage a fake war to imperialistically assert its interests in Britain and France:

Time will tell what the future brings. But we must be prepared for a potential US intervention and must somehow manage to get Russia to contribute as a guarantor.

Reminds one of all those Tea Party signs begging Putin to keep us from invading France, doesn’t it? Let me answer that one for you too: they never existed.

Here’s some more:

The globalists (lead by the US) want to preserve Europe as a stable market for their products. It is in their interest to prevent us from becoming truly sovereign. In reality this is called slavery. They want to keep us as slaves.

Don’t you just hate being beaten over the head by Bachmann and her far-right followers about Americans making slaves out of the Europeans?!

CHRISTIANITY

Later, the Manifesto continues:

The Judeo-Christian religions played an important and influential role in building the once mighty West but we also discovered that these religions contained a serious flaw that has sewed the seeds of the suicidal demise of the indigenous peoples of Western Europe and our cultures. This flaw was identified by the brilliant German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche who described it as “an inversion of morality” whereby the weak, the poor,
the meek, the oppressed and the wretched are virtuous and blessed by God whereas the strong, the wealthy, the noble and the powerful are the immoral and damned by the vengeful almighty Yahweh for eternity. (pg. 391)

The “brilliant” Nietzsche is not exactly a source of spiritual inspiration for faithful Christians, as he is best known for his writings about the death of God. Still, the media and especially the leftist lapdogs will harangue us with the supposed Christianity of this brutal, evil man. Notice how those punished by God are described – the strong, the noble, the wealthy. The Manifesto makes clear which side the authors are on, and it’s not on Yahweh’s side:

Should any person have the temerity to criticise any one of these “victim” groups, they will be viciously smeared and deemed guilty of numerous hate-crimes, the new heresy of the Liberal-Multicultural religion. The plain fact that this situation is destroying the west because it flies in the face of Mother nature – a catastrophic mistake only the native Europeans are committing – matters not a jot to these new pious inquisitors. (pg. 391)

Breivik admits to immoral excesses, in the last post of this “Knights Templar” log, of the kind cherished by the Nietzschian of the Epicurean variety:

I have been storing three bottles of Château Kirwan 1979 (French red wine) which I purchased at an auction 10 years ago with the intention of enjoying them at a very special occasion. Considering the fact that my martyrdom operation draws ever closer I decided to bring one to enjoy with my extended family…

It was an absolutely exquisite experience that will not be forgotten. My thought was to save the last flask for my last martyrdom celebration and enjoy it with the two high class model whores I intend to rent prior to the mission. My interpretation of being a “Perfect Knight” does not and should not include celibacy, although some of my KT peers might disagree with me on this point.

I believe that in order to strengthen the resolve, morale and motivation prior to a martyrdom operation, the Justiciar Knight should be encouraged to embrace and take advantage of a significant reward system designed to increase focus and remove any last doubts. A pragmatic approach, which involves acknowledging the primal aspects of man for the purpose of preparing him for a martyrdom operation, should always take precedence over misguided piety, which only increases the chance of jeopardizing the execution of the operation. And I believe the majority of war strategy analysts will agree with me on this. (pg. 1434)

Of course, to the Left, this is exactly what they’d expect, so it won’t convince them of anything. They believe all Christians are secretly sadistic and hedonistic.

The Manifesto then quotes Hitler while he bashes Christianity:

Had Charles Martel not been victorious at Poitiers -already, you see, the world had already fallen into the hands of the Jews, so gutless a thing Christianity! -then we should in all probability have been converted to Mohammedanism, that cult which glorifies the heroism
and which opens up the seventh Heaven to the bold warrior alone. Then the Germanic races would have conquered the world. Christianity alone prevented them from doing so.” (pg. 231)

Again, this won’t convince the Left, who are continually trying to add Hitler’s victims into the death count column of Christianity, completely ignoring the blatant Socialism of the Socialist Nationalist Party, and his Pagan-Atheism. The Manifesto refers to Hitler’s paganism often.

Indeed, while the Manifesto praises Christianity for its role in suppressing Islamism in the past, it goes so far as to equate modern Christianity with Islam:

Today, its pastors are the most fervent pleaders for the rights of Islam. Muslims in Europe are for them a substitute for the disappearing parish members. Separate Christian institutions, whose reason of existence is being questioned, find a new legitimacy in the fact that Islam in its turn is also opening separate schools, charities and even political parties. Islam has become a sister religion regularly praised as a religion of peace. (pg. 48)

Christian churches in America are specifically named and condemned:

In the U.S., Christian fundamentalists and Islamic organisations are increasingly creating common platforms to speak out
against trends of moral decay (abortion, pornography, etc.). Some of these phenomena of traditionalist alliance-building are quite respectable, but they are
nevertheless conducive to Islam negationism. (pg. 49)

In fact, the Manifesto seems to point to some kind of nature worship as the true faith, as noted here:

For the last fifty years, the white race has arrogantly refused to obey these eternal laws and it will pay a heavy price unless it comes to realise the futility of continually fighting against Mother nature. King Canute realised it and other human races continue to realise it but whether or not the crack-brained Liberal-Multicultural disciples have the humility to realise their folly of battling with Mother nature is quite another matter.

But be in no doubt whatsoever that Mother nature will demand they pay the heaviest price for their arrogance and she will not care one iota if the entire white race has to pay too. Mother nature knows not pity as even self-righteous Liberal-Multiculturalists will find to their cost, you can be completely assured of that. (pg. 399)

This is not anything vaguely approaching the doctrines of traditional Christianity.

If the news media and the more rabid Leftist social media will tie this murderer to the Right because of a perceived similarity of ideology, will they also tie him to those who criticize capitalism? The manifesto devotes a chapter to “Globalised capitalism – another reason for the Fall of Europe”, asking:

Is capitalism always a force for freedom? It is easy for “conservatives” to think so, but is it always true? (pg. 403)

His answer is no. Sounds like Leftist propaganda to me.

The most telling sections are those specifically about religion. The writer of the Manifesto specifically denies having faith, saying:

I’m not going to pretend I’m a very religious person as that would be a lie. (pg. 1344)

Christianity seems to be more of merely the counter-religion to Islam, and serves a pragmatic use.

This is the key evidence for that:

Myself and many more like me do not necessarily have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and God. We do however believe in Christianity as a cultural, social, identity and moral platform. This makes us Christian. (pg. 1307, 3.139)

The evil monster that senselessly and evilly murdered those children was NOT a Christian. It was merely another mask he bore in order to provide a useful tradition in his maniacal fight against Islam and Marxism*. No professing Christian calls themselves such merely because it’s a cultural or social platform. It is, first and foremost, a relationship with Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

——————–

The Manifesto supports:

Environmentalism

One-Child Birth policies

Nationalization (State Control) of Private Companies

and the Manifesto criticizes:

American Capitalism

American Imperialism

American Intervention

Right-Wing Media Monopolies

Weakness of Christianity

*and again, pg. 1360: “The cultural factors are more important than your personal relationship with God, Jesus or the holy spirit.”

and again, pg. 361: “As a cultural Christian, I believe Christendom is essential for cultural reasons. After all, Christianity is the ONLY cultural platform that can unite all Europeans, which will be needed in the coming period during the third expulsion of the Muslims.”

and again, pg. 361: “The European cultural heritage, our norms (moral codes and social structures included), our traditions and our modern political systems are based on Christianity – Protestantism, Catholicism, Orthodox Christianity and the legacy of the European enlightenment (reason is the primary source and legitimacy for authority).

It is not required that you have a personal relationship with God or Jesus in order to fight for our Christian cultural heritage and the European way. In many ways, our modern societies and European secularism is a result of European Christendom and the enlightenment. It is therefore essential to understand the difference between a “Christian fundamentalist theocracy” (everything we do not want) and a secular European society based on our Christian cultural heritage (what we do want).”

and again, pg. 361: “The PCCTS, Knights Templar is therefore not a religious organisation but rather a Christian “culturalist” military order.”
