NAVY Seal Chris Kyle Murdered at Charity Event in Texas

There seem to be some conflicting reports about the death of celebrated NAVY Seal Chris Kyle today:

Via Glen Rose Reporter:

Two individuals are reportedly dead in a suspected homicide reported near Glen Rose.

Erath County Sheriff’s investigators, Stephenville police and Texas Rangers are reportedly at the scene at this time.

Police are reportedly searching for a vehicle in connection with the deaths. The pickup truck is described as a large black four-door truck, elevated high off of the ground. The suspect vehicle is described as completely covered in Rhino Liner with a skull sticker in the back window.

From the Empire Tribune:

A former Tarleton State University student who wrote the best-selling book, “American Sniper,” was one of two victims shot and killed at Rough Creek Lodge late Saturday afternoon.

Chris Kyle and a friend were found dead at Rough Creek’s shooting range.

“We have identified a strong suspect,” Erath County Sheriff Tommy Bryant said.

Law enforcement officials throughout the county were searching for a large four-door Ford pickup that is high off the ground and covered in Rhino liner. There is a skull sticker in the back window.

Authorities had not made an arrest as of press time Saturday night.

The suspect is considered to be armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees a vehicle matching that description is urged to call 911 immediately.

Bryant would not release additional information about the case, but a source working at Rough Creek Lodge confirmed that one of the victims is Kyle.

Kyle is a former Navy SEAL who served four tours of duty in Iraq, where he was given the nickname “The Devil of Ramadi” by insurgents.

My blog  covered a story involving Chris Kyle last year where he claimed that he had punched out Jesse Ventura for spouting anti-Military slurs at a bar.

Whatever happened, may he rests in peace, and his murderer is caught quickly and prosecuted to the furthest extent of the law.

UPDATE:

GLEN ROSE — Two people were killed Saturday at a resort in Erath County, according to an alert from the sheriff’s office.

One of the victims at the Rough Creek Lodge near Glen Rose was a Navy Seal sniper, according to the alert.

A warning was issued for the suspect, who was believed to be driving a black Ford F-350 truck with large tires and rims.

The suspect was believed to be highly trained with military experience.

UPDATE:

Eddie Routh, identified by news sources as the murderer, had been busted last month for DWI:

Eddie Ray Routh, 24, of Lancaster, DWI with open container, $1,500 bond.

UPDATE:

Here’s a video of Chris on the Conan O’Brien show, talking about his book:

Chris wrote an autobiography called “American Sniper” – if you haven’t purchased it yet, it might help his family. If there’s any way to donate to them, I’ll post that too.
