#ShoutYourAbortion? 64% Of Women Who Have Abortions Are Coerced Into It

A new hashtag campaign was begun in order to encourage women that abortions are the best thing since sliced bread, but there’s one little statistic that puts the entire debate into perspective.

It’s this one:

Boy, they did NOT appreciate my attempt to enlighten their worldview with some facts.

Not surprisingly, no one could produce a citation for their doubt in that statistic, they just denied it out of their fetishizing of abortion.

Well here’s the citation:

Forced Abortions In America

See the full report here.

The Un-Choice

In a national study of women, 64% of those who aborted felt pressured to do so by others.1 This pressure can become violent.2 65% suffered symptoms of trauma.1 In the year following an abortion, suicide rates are 6-7 times higher.3

Forced Non-Choice …. “I’ll blow her brains out.”

Intense pressure to abort can come from husbands, parents, doctors, partners, counselors, or close friends and family. They may threaten or blackmail a woman into abortion. These are not idle threats. Coercion can escalate to violence. Women who resist abortion have been beaten, tortured and killed. One husband jumped on his wife’s stomach to force an abortion. A mother forced her daughter at gunpoint to go to the abortion clinic. A woman was forcibly injected by the baby’s father with an abortifacient drug.2

Unwanted Non-Choice … Their Choice, Not Hers.

Reasons women give for having abortions:

Forced by mother

Father opposed

Husband or boyfriend persuaded me

No other option given

Would have been kicked out

Loss of family’s support

Lack of support from society

Clinic persuaded me4

In 95% of all cases, the male partner plays a central role in the decision.5 Of men interviewed at abortion clinics 45% recalled urging abortion, including 37% of married men.6 Many of these men reported being justified in being the primary decision maker in the decision to have the abortion.6

And that’s not from a crazy right-wing nutjob site (like mine is), it’s from PublicEye.com, which is a pro-abortion “reproductive rights” group!!

So suck on that, baby-killers.

Further, look at that last stat – if in 95% of all cases the male partner plays the “central role” in the decision, wouldn’t a supposed feminist be wary when the vast majority of women who have abortions weren’t “choosing” it independently from her male partner? Seems like the pro-feminist position would be pro-life.

Whoever thought up this hashtag is one sick … like this is anything to be proud of. I want to shout my abortion. Are you kidding me? Removing the shame from this is not something they’ve really managed to do and I don’t think they ever will until we lose our humanity completely.

  • Well done Sooper.

Don’t get me wrong, I believe the stats provided. I just don’t understand certain things going on here. Maybe I just don’t understand people. One thing the file says is that 45% of men recall urging abortion, including 37% of married men. Why is that so high? I could understand wanting to kill a child born out of adultery, (doesn’t make it right because it punishes the child not the adulterers) but somehow the adultery pregnancy rate isn’t that high, is it?

If it is, then perhaps the issue we’re dealing with is deeper than politics. Our society has a big moral issue.

I still cant understand why Feminists are so concerned with abortion.
