About The ‘He Knew What He Signed Up For’ Scandal…

So the media is going crazy over this report that just came out last night – it has to do with what Trump told a pregnant widow of a soldier who died in the attack in Niger.

Watch below:

Apparently he told the widow of Sgt. La David Johnson, “he knew what he signed up for…” and that sounds kinda terrible.

NOW… this story has a lot of holes. First of all the report is from a congresswoman who absolutely despises Trump. That means she’s likely coloring the report to be as bad as possible.

“Yes, he said it,” Fredericka Wilson said. “It’s so insensitive. He should have not have said that. He shouldn’t have said it.”

Also, the quote doesn’t stop there – he says, “he knew what he signed up for, but when it happens, it hurts anyway,” so the point of the sentence was to try to sympathize with her pain. Had it just been the first part, it would have been much worse.

Finally, we don’t know how the widow herself reacted to this – we only know from second hand accounts. And really that’s what counts.

Now you all KNOW I’m not a fan of Trump – I’m not defending him here out of partisanship, I’m just pointing out the media isn’t to be trusted on these matters.

“Reportedly.”

And the media is running with this like crazy because they think it’ll show how terrible Trump is. I’m not sure that’s quite right. We have to see some more confirmation of exactly what he said, and how the widow herself took his phone call.

One last point – if they’re so incensed about it, why not start a GoFundMe to help the widow through this awful tragic time? Channel that outrage into something good instead of just attacking the president…
