Obama has yet again used his soaring rhetoric to overcome opposite ends of the stupidity spectrum – at once, the beneficiary of the most corporate campaign contributions in 2008 is able to co-opt the morons at the Occupy Wall Street protest! How impressed we all are at the breathtakingly consistent political organization of the Cop-Car-Crapping Occupiers!
The Obama campaign is known for it’s mind-shatteringly innovative use of new media. Well today, it has upped the ante – witness the presidential campaign video that will change ALL presidential campaign videos!
Your EBT needs to buy weed and a forty, yo!
Michael Medved posted these stats about how much of the share of taxes the wealthy pay. I thought I would put them into a spiffy little graph:
Those Americans who are in the top 1% of wage-earners in America earn 20% of the total income earned in America (adjusted gross). Meanwhile, they pay 38% of the total tax burden. If you look at the top 5%, they earn 35% of the total income earned in America, and they pay 59% of the total tax burden. That’s quite a bit.
As re-re-reposted on TCOTS, Obama just can’t wait for Congress to approve his leftist agenda, so he’s announced that he’s going to begin abusing his power of executive order for the sake of side-stepping the Constitution:
“I’m here to say to all of you and to say to the people of Nevada and the people of Las Vegas, we can’t wait for an increasingly dysfunctional Congress to do its job. Where they won’t act, I will,” Obama said.
“I’ve told my administration to keep looking every single day for actions we can take without Congress, steps that can save consumers money, make government more efficient and responsive, and help heal the economy. And we’re going to be announcing these executive actions on a regular basis,” the president said.
Except, Obama, one of the most important jobs that Congress has is to counterbalance your power to prevent a despotic executive branch.
Government is not a machine, but a living thing. It falls, not under the theory of the universe, but under the theory of organic life. It is accountable to Darwin. — Woodrow Wilson
Obama took the opportunity to observe a momentous occasion like the downfall of a 40 year dictator and erstwhile enemy of America to make a truly stupid gaffe. When describing how this feat was accomplished, he said:
“Our skilled diplomats have helped to lead an unprecedented global response.”
Maybe they didn’t have much time to write his speech, but who could possibly write such a line with the slightest sliver of knowledge about history? The 2011 Libyan War has no precedent as a global response? Are you serious? World War I? World War II? Hello?
But of course, he’s isn’t serious.
I’ll un-president YOU, buddy.
Eamon Javers reported today on CNBC that he had uncovered evidence of Obama’s Department of Energy revising documents related to the Solyndra scandal:
The changes occurred in two press releases from the Department of Energy’s loan guarantee program — the same program that has been the center of controversy surrounding the failed solar company Solyndra. Continue reading
Those who blame monied interests in Washington often screech about Big Oil or Big Pharma or Big Defense. You would think that they were the overwhelming campaign contributors against those poor leftist underdogs who have scant resources to defend themselves against the capitalist wolves.
If you care about reason and facts, however, you’ll find that Unions and other Leftist organizations top the list of the main contributors to political campaigns.
As shown above, of the top ten contributors since 1989, FOUR represent different kinds of unions, including SEIU representing Federal Employees and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, representing every other public employee! Continue reading
Terrible news to America today: the Teleprompter of the United States has been kidnapped!!!
With the Democrat convention less than a year away, the White House is breathing a sigh of relief that the fake Greek columns weren’t also on the truck.
According to the story, the truck was later recovered. At this time, nothing about the teleprompter thief or thieves is known, other than that police are on the lookout for anybody who can’t stop saying “pass this jobs bill”…
My twitter homie @ConservativeLA composed this great parody of the Occupy Protestors by way of rewriting an old Dylan tune – take a listen:
Lyrics from his site:
Apologies to Mr. Zimmerman.
Come gather ’round losers wherever you roam
And admit that the garbage around you has grown
And accept it that soon you’ll have to go home
If your Pell Grants to you are worth savin’
Then you better start hitchin’ before you’re too stoned
For your underwear needs changing Continue reading
One of the more breathtakingly stupid memes of the Occupy Wall Street protest (and there are many) is the constant self-aggrandizing comparison to the “Arab Spring.” There are many reasons to be cautious in being overly celebratory of the Mideast revolutions even without comparing it to a “revolution” in America. Even the slightest and most cursory musing upon the vast differences in our cultural and political institutions and histories should prevent any simplistic generalization.
Thankfully, the US Embassy to Syria, who confront these differences on a daily basis, have responded to the crackhead cop-car-crappers with all that experience behind their wisdom:
A Note from Facebook moderator Leslie Ordeman
We recently put up an article about the Occupy Wall Street protests in the USA — there is lots of news about it on Syrian television stations.
For sure there is a lot of unhappiness in America about the economic situation. Unemployment is relatively high – nine percent. Housing prices keep falling, hurting more families. There is much debate between the two main American political parties about how to fix the U.S. economy.
We don’t know exactly what will happen next. What we do know is:
* the US will have national elections in November 2012 that are not under the control of the American intelligence establishment but rather an independent election authority not controlled by the President or Congress; Continue reading
Now comes the gloating.
I wanted to test the accuracy of twitter flash polling – this is not scientific in almost any way except in some quasi-metaphysical twitter way that science does not understand yet.
I bombarded my followers and the conservative hashtag with a simple poll asking those who supported Sarah Palin who they would vote for after she announced her leaving the race. I closed the polling pretty quickly the next morning, as I saw that the Ron Paulestinians had reared up on their hind legs and started to skew the results.
After gathering the results, I averaged results from three polls right before the announcement, and added a percentage of support according as my twitter poll results predicted would be added to each nominee.
These were the results of my twitter poll predictions:
This is the exact text of my prediction: Continue reading
About two months ago the story came out about
So what do the magic keys portend for 2012? Lichtman says Obama takes it.
“Even if I am being conservative, I don’t see how Obama can lose,” says Lichtman, the brains behind The Keys to the White House…
Working for the president are several of Lichtman’s keys, tops among them incumbency and the scandal-free nature of his administration.Undermining his re-election is a lack of charisma and leadership on key issues, says Lichtman, even including healthcare, Obama’s crowning achievement.
Lichtman developed his 13 Keys in 1981. They test the performance of the party that holds the presidency. If six or more of the 13 keys go against the party in power, then the opposing party wins.“The keys have figured into popular politics a bit,” Lichtman says. “They’ve never missed. They’ve been right seven elections in a row. A number that goes way beyond statistical significance in a record no other system even comes close to.”
Of course, many conservatives jumped all over this conclusion and defended our sacred honor in the upcoming election and our chances for victory, as most polls show us ahead, or in good standing. Michael Medved dismantled some of the keys on his radio talk show.
Looking back, it’s amazing how quickly things change: Continue reading
CNBC this morning showed streets being shut down while the Occupiers walked up to protest in front of millionaire homes. The reporter said they were well-dressed, articulate, and organized. They were non-partisan, not the crazed hippies that some (like me) have characterized them to be. Foreigner Simon Hobbs even said that they were not communists or anarchists, but regular Americans. I don’t trust anyone who’s head looks like a bulging eggplant.
Forget that they were marching to David Koch’s house, celebrated right-wing supporter of pro-American and Tea Party causes. Of course they are non-partisan! Oh they were also going to Rupert Murdoch’s house, who, despite most reports that he’s not really political, is disdained by the Left for his ownership of several Right-Wing news outlets like Fox News.
