NPR Quotes Suspects’ Aunt About Their Being Muslim, Utterly Flummoxed About Motivation

NPR interviewed the aunt of the suspects in the Boston Bombing at about noon today. She admitted the following:

“It is a Muslim family. The men pray four, five times a day… Tamerlan became Muslim maybe 5 years ago…”

And followed up that quote with:

“it underscores how little we know about the reason why the bombings happened…”

When summing up the interview, they stumbled to try to avoid the word “Muslim,” saying instead:

“She informed us about their uhm, uh, ethnic background, but we must take caution to not make any conclusions based on that…
