It really is amazing how the media is able to paint conservatives as crazy weirdos over and over. One of the most skillful political smears from the media was making Sarah Palin seem insane and stupid.
Just like Mitt Romney was mocked for his “Cold War” mentality when he warned about Russian aggression, Sarah Palin was ridiculed for similar warnings she made four years earlier:
What an idiot right? The unholy powers of deception of the hordes of smirking news reporters made sure everyone thought Sarah Palin said, “I can see Russia from my house,” while praising the “Russian Reset” policy of Hillary Clinton, which has now resulted in Putin seizing Ukraine and attempting to re-organize the Soviet Union.
You don’t even have to like Sarah Palin to understand the breathtaking dishonesty and hypocrisy from the news media and liberals who attacked her.
Meanwhile, Democrats are still drooling over the possibility of Hillary Clinton running for president in 2016 with the thinnest of resumes. And why not? Democracy under liberals is just a popularity contest – no experience or competence is needed to run America into the ground.
These are the spoils of a weak president drawing down American power and presence in the world. And it’s just beginning.
Protests between pro-Russian separatists and loyalists to the new Ukrainian government broke out into violence in Crimea as gunmen seizeda Parliament building, and hoisted up the Russian flag.
In the days previous to the attack, pro-Russian Crimean citizens had been chanting, “Crimea is Russian!” against the Ukrainian loyalists.
Gunmen early Thursday captured the parliament and Cabinet buildings in Simferopol, the capital of Ukraine’s autonomous republic of Crimea, an official said.
Ukraine lawmaker and Crimea native Andrei Semchenko told The Times that two units of gunmen struck about 5:30 a.m. He described the men as wearing camouflage and “armed to the teeth, including heavy machine guns.”
“They used a couple of stun grenades to break in and pushed the police guards stationed inside out into the street,” said Semchenko. “They acted very professionally and seemed to be fully aware of the location of offices and infrastructure in both buildings.”
The gunmen allowed some legislators inside, giving rise to the speculation that their aim is to force a vote to secede from Ukraine. They are currently in a standoff, with the militants saying they don’t “have the authority” to negotiate any terms.
Russia has denied any involvement, but reports of military transport vehicles speeding towards Simferopol spread through social media, including pictures and video like the one below:
The interim Ukrainian president warned the Russians not to invade, and even went so far as to demand that Russian forces not leave their naval base. Eventually the military transports turned around away from Simferopol, making it appear that they were merely on a training exercise.
Meanwhile, the toppled president Yanukovic is said to be either in the Crimean, or already in Moscow, which is promising to ensure his safety. He is now accused of crimes against humanity for ordering protesters be shot during the Kiev uprising. Defiantly, he penned a declaration saying he’s still the president of Ukraine, and that he will “fight to the end.”
The “military exercise” that Putin commenced near the border of Ukraine is said to be composed of 150,000 soldiers, the same number that the United States invaded Iraq with. Kerry has also made a statement warning the Russians against invading Ukraine.
In other example of local city officials grossly abusing government funds, the Centinela School District Superintendent was berated by justifiably angry citizens over his enormous salary.
The small California community has been shocked to discover that in addition to the $663,000 compensation package granted to Jose Fernandez, he also received a monumental loan from the school district of $900,000 at 2 percent interest over 40 years, even though he had already declared bankruptcy twice!
Residents demanded answers at an emergency meeting in Lawndale Tuesday night after a series of reports revealed an excessive amount of compensation for the superintendent of the Centinela Valley Union High School District.
Four of the five current board members — Rojas, Rocio Pizano, Gloria Ramos and President Maritza Molina — were on the panel that unanimously approved Fernandez’s employment contract in late 2009. The contract includes a bevy of perks and benefits that added nearly $400,000 to his base salary in calendar year 2013. Although $215,000 of that came from a one-time expense, the contract grants Fernandez a 9 percent raise annually.
Unfortunately, there is no indication that any illegal act was committed, and shockingly, the superintendent actually defends his salary, saying he took over a district that had facilities “similar to Haiti.” The district includes only three High Schools, with about 6,500 students.
Makes you wonder how many other cities have such officials cashing in at the expense of their constituents’ well-being.
University campuses are the perfect incubator for liberalism anyway, but that’s not enough for the left, sometimes they really need to hammer into America’s youth their apologetically extremist propaganda.
The video above was captured by a student who started recording after the lecturer attributed Wisconsin Governor Walker victory on white voter racism:
A guest lecturer in a freshman general education course at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (UWW) opened class Tuesday by attacking Governor Scott Walker (R) and blaming the results of the 2010 election on “white rage.”
“The context of 2010 was, white rage. To be honest with you. White people having to pay for health care for blacks and browns and gays,” said Eyon Biddle, Sr., the current political and organizing director for SEIU Local 150, in a video obtained by Campus Reform.
He does actually say, “It’s not a democrat or republican thing” but nearly all of his criticism lays blame on conservatives.
“Things that polarize people….those deep American values of division, racism, sexism, classism. And all the while, rich folks, predominantly white, are making money off of us.”
That’s the kind of propaganda that your tax dollars are subsidizing, which is a real shame, because anyone can get this sacred learning for free by watching MSNBC or CNN or even broadcast television.
The Obama administration must be trying to jump start the economy through its red paint purchases, because it’s so eager to draw red lines on every foreign policy failure they jump into.
The latest is a toothless warningto the Russians if they dare to consider involving themselves in the ousting of (pro-Russian) Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych by a popular uprising:
The Obama administration warned Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday not to react too aggressively to the fast-moving developments in Ukraine, where pro-Western demonstrators forced the nation’s Moscow-backed president from power over the weekend.
National Security Adviser Susan E. Rice said the situation unfolding in Kiev “reflects the will of the Ukrainian people and the interests of the United States and Europe,” and that Russia would be making a “grave mistake” if it sends in military forces to try to reverse the developments — or to seize control of pro-Moscow eastern Ukraine.
While Putin has made no such declaration of intent to interfere in Ukraine, there are many Russians demanding that he needs to take steps to protect ethnic Russians in the liberated country. There are unsubstantiated reports on social media that Putin is moving military assets towards Ukraine, but none are confirmed yet.
What’s next, a sternly worded letter? Keep in mind that this is about the 50th “red line” warning this administration has made to different world actors, including Obama’s petulant demand that Bashar al-Assad step down from power (he’s still there), and his declaration of “outrage” at Yanukovych having political dissidents shot. He didn’t even have the nerve to say anything about the uprising of Iranian citizens against their own autocratic regime.
Wait, wouldn’t a “red line” be considered a welcome mat to red commies? Now it all makes sense!
Degenerate gangmembers attacked a Dayton bus driver, and police believe that he barely got away with his life because of one little inspirational book he happened to carry in his pocket – the Bible.
49-year old Rickey Wagoner had stepped outside his bus to see why it had stopped running, when three cowards accosted him. When he turned to face his attackers, two gunshots pounded in to his chest. Though he was hurt, he lunged at his attackers, grabbing the gun, but the assailant was able to shoot him once more in the leg.
As he fought for his life, one of the other degenerates stabbed him in his arm, but he was still able to strike back with a pen he found in his pocket, stabbing one of them in the leg. After they ran off, and police attended to him, they discovered what had prevented the bullets that struck him in the chest from killing him – a copy of the Bible.
Police said those bullets were stopped by some sort of “intervention.”
“The two bullets were stopped by the New Testament book in his (shirt) pocket,” [Sgt. Michael] Pauley said. Police later referred to the book as a religious devotional titled “The Message,” which is a modern translation of the Bible.
“There was obviously some kind of intervention involved in this incident, because he probably should not be here,” Pauley said.
What a miracle! Wagoner is recovering from the injuries. His son posted this message, “Dad is doing good now and my family and I are just lucky he is still alive,” on his Facebook page Monday.
Wagoner described the attackers as young black males, likely in their late teens. He said they fled in a dark-colored 1990s model Ford. No arrests have been made.
According to a police report, Wagoner told investigators he believed the shooting may have been a gang initiation. He said he heard one of the suspects tell another to kill him “if you want to be all the way in the club.”
It’s unfortunate Wagoner was armed only with a pen and a Bible, and not a firearm as well.
Let me say really quick that I don’t believe Christians will always be saved by God when threatened – obviously that’s not the case, and we shouldn’t expect it. But when these events happen, I think it’s pretty clear that it was God acting for His own purposes, and we should find encouragement when He makes His presence clear.
Let’s hope those cowards are brought to justice promptly.
Our long national nightmare is over – America is celebrating by snuggling with their loving guns, knowing that zealously vehement gun grabbing foreigner Piers Morgan won’t rip them apart from each other.
That’s because despite challenging Fox News competitor Megyn Kelly with the taunt, “bring it on!” it appears that the gunophobe Brit will be leaving his show in March due to low ratings, and Americans basically hating him just as much as he condescended to them. Here are some of the best worst moments from his show, and his life, that got him canned:
1) He falsely said the Newtown killer was an NRA member
2) Piers tries to debate gun control on Twitter and get destroyed
Morgan got the nickname “musket” from his snarky conservative fans when he was obliterated in a now famous short debate on Twitter:
Good job, musket.
3) Remember that time he helped Trayvon’s friend explain why “cracker” isn’t racist?
Musket’s interview with Trayvon Martin’s girlfriend Jeantel was a world class performance of fawning admiration for someone who could barely be understood on the witness stand through her ebonics lingo. The apex washis letting her explain that the obviously racial epithet “cracker” isn’t racist at all! Oh yeah, we believe you.
4) Piers the arbiter of constitutional and biblical truth
Not only did the dim-witted immigrant set himself above our constitution, but he also climbed the lofty heights and tried to dethrone God Himself, just because he didn’t like what he read in the Bible.
5) Saying the Republicans are less than rational than Syria and Iran
That’s the length and breadth of Piers’ foreign policy expertise – he thinks a political party that wants to not carry around a $17 trillion debt is less rational than a country that gassed its own citizens, and another that has threatened Israel with extinction while denying the holocaust!
6) Larry King says Spongebob would be better on CNN than Piers
Amazingly, the abrasive Brit was brought on to replace Larry King for CNN, who has a much less confrontational temperment. During an interview where King admitted CNN “has problems,” this was his advice for how to save the ratings:
“Put SpongeBob on CNN — 24 hours — until a big story breaks. Then we break into SpongeBob, and go to the hurricane, and then back to SpongeBob.”
The reason? Piers Morgan was narcissistically making every show about himself.
7) Competing with Chris Matthews’ gushing over Obama
If you thought Matthews’ leg tingling was bad, you’re just gonna love this videowhere Piers actually calls Obama, “the perfect human specimen.” No, really.
8) He told Obama to “start panicking” over his Obamacare numbers
SO that whole, “bring it on Megyn Kelly” thing didn’t really work out for ya, did it Piers?
Our long national nightmare is coming to an end – the Piers Morgan show is over after years of low ratings and alienating Americans with his gun-grabbing, sneering condescension. How did he last so long?
CNN’s president, Jeffrey Zucker, has other problems, but none bigger than Mr. Morgan and his plum 9 p.m. time slot. Mr. Morgan said last week that he and Mr. Zucker had been talking about the show’s failure to connect and had decided to pull the plug, probably in March.
While offering in the nicest terms why Piers didn’t too well at CNN, the New York Times’ David Carr didn’t gloss over his vehement insistence on more gun control, that hinged on fanatical religious zealotry:
Mr. Morgan’s approach to gun regulation was more akin to King George III, peering down his nose at the unruly colonies and wondering how to bring the savages to heel. He might have wanted to recall that part of the reason the right to bear arms is codified in the Constitution is that Britain was trying to disarm the citizenry at the time.
He regrets none of it, but clearly understands his scolding of “stupid” opponents of gun laws was not everyone’s cup of tea.
“I’m in danger of being the guy down at the end of the bar who is always going on about the same thing,” he said. He added that he was sure there were plenty of people in the heartland angry “about this British guy telling them how to lead their lives and what they should do with their guns.”
So, basically, Megyn Kelly destroyed Piers Morgan in the ratings, and Nancy Grace finished him off!
The problem of education in America doesn’t have one solution because it has many layers of problems, but it’s hard to think it’s not in need of some serious reform when you see these fruits of the system.
Earlier this month, The Post exposed a scheme at Manhattan’s Murry Bergtraum HS for Business Careers in which failing students could get full credit without attending class, but instead watch video lessons and take tests online. One social-studies teacher had a roster of 475 students in all grades and subjects.
Red-faced administrators encouraged a student letter-writing campaign to attack The Post and defend its “blended learning” program. Eighteen kids e-mailed to argue that their alma mater got a bad rap.
Almost every letter was filled with spelling, grammar and punctuation errors.
Here’s the graphic they put together of some of the letters:
That is frightening. The Post goes on to say that while school officials make the excuse that they don’t have enough money for teachers, they do have enough money to have a public relations person – the very one who encouraged these students to write about why the “Blended Learning” should be kept. Couldn’t we at least afford a PR hack bright enough to write the letters themselves?!
By the time the Republicans finally get to repealing this monstrosity of a healthcare bill, we’re seriously going to be able to publish a book called, “how not to do marketing” based on Obama’s efforts.
We’ve had “brosurance” ads and “hosurance” ads, and half-naked people on the streets of Denver, and the “adorable care act” Twitter account, and even mompants ads, but I have to say that I’m pretty impressed with this latest failure. The weird goofy rapper ads coming out of Washington’s state Obamacare exchange are pretty failtastic:
What I like best about these is that the enrollees are just as bewildered by the rap guys as the viewer is. How do you like this latest use of your tax dollars?
While it seems that the administration has gained its footing on the Healthcare.gov website woes, they won’t be meeting their own goals for enrolling Americans, and they’ve sent out Biden to start the apologies. Here’s the video:
This morning with the new numbers of enrollments, Joe Biden sheepishly admitted that they probably won’t hit their target of seven million enrollments by the March deadline, and predicted they’ll hit far below it:
“We may not get to seven, but we’re gonna get to five or six,” Vice President Biden admits, talking about the millions of people who were supposed to be signed up for Obamacare by March 31.
But about 20-30 percent of those “five or six” will have “signed up” but not paid – meaning they’re not signed up. So really we’re talking as low as 3.5 – 4 million, or just over half what was predicted.
And we can assume the original 7 million figure was picked as a lowball number the administration expected to say it had exceeded amid glorious fanfare.
Don’t believe it? Here are some numbers from an Obamacare supporter who has been aggregating the stats:
And this guy is actually happy about this – it’s “only” down 10%! Here’s the rest of his sunny analysis:
With the addition of the latest numbers from Colorado, Hawaii and especially California, if you include all ACA Exchange-based enrollments reported to date–both paid and unpaid–the total currently sits at a tad over 3.56 million people. The original CBO projection for exchange-based private QHP enrollment was 7 million, so we’ve finally hit the halfway mark. Of course, the enrollment period itself is actually over 77% of the way through, so this is more of a purely symbolic milestone than anything else, but it’s still worth noting.
No, really, he thinks this is a good thing – enrollments are barely at 50% of the target, even though we’re 77% through the deadline period, and enrollments are slowing down from last month. Hurray?
But wait, there’s more!! It gets even worse if you consider just the enrollments that have paid up!
…if you remove all enrollments known to be unpaid (about 265K) from the 5 states which have broken that out, and then subtract another 10% from the remaining 46 states, you’ll only have about 3.05 million enrollments which are paid (or unpaid due to billing problems on the insurance company’s end, which can hardly be blamed on the customer or the exchange system).
That’s how the media will spin this failure from the Obamacare architects – it’s private industry’s fault. Weird how Obama tells the free market “you didn’t build that!” when it succeeds, but doesn’t take any of the blame when it doesn’t interact well with his crony capitalist schemes.
