Football Great Joe Theismann Rebukes Redskins Debate in One Tweet
Former Redskins quarterback Joe Theismann spoke out on his Twitter account on the Redskins controversy:
The comment was no doubt prompted by the U.S. Patent Office’s decision to withdraw the Redskins’ trademark because it was disparaging to Native Americans. While his statement got a lot of support, inevitable the trolls came out to attack with their one word mantra:

Theismann has said before that the name is intended to be a tribute to native Americans, not an insult.
