Whatever you may think of Representative John Lewis’ decidedly liberal political policies now, it cannot be denied that he had a noble hand in the Civil Rights Movement. Today he recognized an anniversary of his release from jail for a a crime that doesn’t exist anymore, and should have never existed:

There are too many people who obsess over race, but even they have to admit that we’ve come a long way towards stamping out racism and bigotry in a very short time.
