County Report: Mike Brown Had Marijuana in His System When Fatally Shot

The County is releasing some details from their medical report of Michael Brown’s body, and one detail that wasn’t in the family’s autopsy report is getting a lot of attention:

In addition, Brown had marijuana in his system when he was shot and killed by a police officer on Aug. 9 in Ferguson, according to this person, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the ongoing investigation.

Not sure it means anything more than another crime he was involved in. I wouldn’t think pot smoking would make you aggressive, which would help support the account that the policeman was defending himself.

Some more details:

Michael Brown was shot in the head and chest multiple times, according to Mary Case, the St. Louis County medical examiner.

While Case declined to comment further, citing the ongoing investigation into Brown’s death, another person familiar with the county’s investigation told The Washington Post that Brown had between six and eight gunshot wounds and was shot from the front.

The Brown family’s lawyer says he didn’t know anything about the presence of marijuana from their autopsy. How is that possible unless they’re purposely misrepresenting the results in order to inflame public opinion?

UPDATE:

I have been appraised of the fact that it is standard procedure for all the blood to be taken out of a body during the first autopsy, so that it is unavailable for testing in subsequent autopsies. A toxicology report takes about a week to complete.
