Loretta Lynch Contradicts Herself On WHY ISIS References Will Be Redacted
Obama’s Attorney General Loretta Lynch made contradictory claims about why they’re going to be redacting references to ISIS in calls made by the terrorist in the Orlando shooting.
Here’s where she says what they’ll be redacting:

She specifically says they’ll be cutting out the portions where he talks about pledging allegiance to ISIS.
Well that’s strange because in this interview she says the reason they’re releasing the calls is so that people can understand the MOTIVATION of the killer, INCLUDING the fact that he pledged allegiance to ISIS!!
Watch:
Now how the hell are we going to understand the motivations of the killer from the transcripts when she’s specifically saying they’re going to be redacting those motivations?!?!?
The REASON she gives for the redaction is to keep victims from being “re-victimized” – but isn’t the effect the same from releasing ANY of the phone call? It doesn’t make much sense at all.
Here’s another interpretation I saw that was pretty good:
This seems like a really questionable decision. Like, Barbara-Streisand-suing-for-privacy questionable. https://t.co/mwLJyunwJm

Also, under Florida law, 911 records (with appropriate redaction of identifying info) are public records. So this is coming out eventually.

This Mateen transcript redaction idea is bad for many reasons.
(1) It does the exact opposite of obscuring Mateen’s ISIL statements.— Gabriel Malor (@gabrielmalor) June 19, 2016
(2) It feeds the “can’t say Islamic/ist extremism” distraction.
(3) It does nothing functionally to help the victims.— Gabriel Malor (@gabrielmalor) June 19, 2016
(4) It’s futile, since 911 calls are public records in Florida, and Mateen’s will become public anyway at some point.

Off the top of my head. There’s also something in here about just who had this Mensa-level idea to redact the transcript.

I mean, this transcript would “re-victimize” line is just another example of the idiotic progressive idea that words ARE violence.

Yup. All this is going to do is feed conspiracy theorists, and there’s no discernible rational reason to do it. Unless they WANT to feed the fringe to make us all look crazy. Just wait till Candidate Orange-face McMoron reads about it at Drudge and then starts shrieking that Obama was behind it all…. again.
UPDATE:
Just four hours after releasing the redacted transcripts, they released the full transcripts because of the public pressure, presumably:

How absurd is that? Isn’t that basically admitting they have no clue what they’re doing here?
UPDATE:
They also gave ANOTHER reason why they released it:

They’re all over the place.
