Rush Limbaugh’s voice has gone quiet.

After decades of being one of the most powerful and influential figures in the conservative movement, Rush has passed on after a fight with cancer.

I can’t say enough how influential he was in making me into a conservative. I still remember, decades later, some of the lessons he taught about how conservatives look at America and how we should govern our lives. There are millions of dittoheads, just like me out there.

One of the proudest moments of my life as a conservative was when he mentioned me on his show.* I will never forget that feeling.

I stopped listening to his show years ago, and there’s much I disagreed with him about late in his career, but I cannot deny that he was a massive influence on me and how I think about life.

He’ll be missed. But his legacy will live on.

Rest in peace, Rush.
