I don’t even get what’s going on in here. Someone sent me this video of a parent challenging the implementation of Common Core in Missouri by asserting the right of the states in the face of the federal government. Some idiot on the state school board seems to be saying that the states have no sovereignty since the Civil War? What the hell?
While yes, the federal government extended some of its power because of the Civil War, it’s blind stupidity to say the states have NO power since the “War of Northern Aggression.” You can hear the gasps of shock and surprise from the other parents.
If Common Core advocates want to pretend this isn’t an imposition from the federal government, they need to set this guy in Missouri straight!
