Kellyanne Conway Tries To Whitewash Trump And Bannon From Alt-Right Extremism

Everyone on the left, and the small remnant of rational people on the right, are marveling that Trump had the gall to make Steve Bannon a top White House aide. When Trump’s campaign manager Kellyanne Conway was asked about it, she grabbed a fainting couch, she was so offended!!!

From TPM:

Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway told reporters that she was “personally offended” by suggestions that Bannon represented the alt-right, even though he has proudly said that his website does. Conway said she would not “manage a campaign where that would be one of the going philosophies.”

“I worked very closely with Steve Bannon. He’s been the general of this campaign. And frankly people should look at the full resume,” she told journalists in the lobby of New York’s Trump Tower. “He has got a Harvard Business degree. He’s a naval officer. He has success in entertainment. I don’t know if you’re aware of that. And he certainly was a Goldman Sachs managing partner. Brilliant tactician.”

This is pretty hilarious, in a sad pathetic way, because Steve Bannon has not made it a secret that he plays footsie with alt-right extremists:

Kellyanne neglects to mention that Steve Bannon turned Andrew Breitbart’s conservative news outlet into a cesspool for the alt-right, and he was happy about it!!

For those looking for a definition of the alt-right, they call themselves “white nationalists,” and say that American culture should be reserved especially for whites and that non-whites are ill-suited for the promises of liberty. But, ironically I guess, they pretend to be “patriotic” when their intellectual standard-bearers specifically deny the philosophy of the Constitution and the founders. The “philosophy” of the alt-right is anti-thetical to that of the founders, and what is called classical liberalism (don’t confuse this with modern liberalism) in that they think “tribalism” is better than the egalitarianism espoused by many, but not all, of the founders. If this kinda sounds like the left to you, that’s not an accident. Non-white identity politics is just as anti-thetical to the Constitution as white identity politics.

Meanwhile, Trumpists like Newt Gingrich are literally saying they don’t exist and are made up by the media.

Kellyanne Conway is “personally offended” that someone would connect her to a philosophy that Steve Bannon is shamelessly promoting and advocating. I guess this means that the “words have no meaning” policy of the electoral campaign will seep into the next four years…
