BREAKING: America Negotiates With Terrorists to Have Last American Prisoner Released by Taliban

The Obama administration announced a stunning agreement with the Taliban to have our last prisoner of war feed in exchange for the release of five prisoners of Guantanamo Bay. From USA Today:

Bergdahl, 28, was serving in a parachute infantry regiment of the the Army’s 25th Infantry Division, when he was captured in Afghanistan June 30, 2009.

He is now under the care of the U.S. military after being handed over by his captors in Afghanistan, Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel said in a statement.

“We will give him all the support he needs to help him recover from this ordeal, and we are grateful that he will soon be reunited with his family,” Hagel said.

Hagel also said he informed Congress today that the USA is transferring five detainees from Guantánamo Bay to Qatar, which has agreed to ensure that security measures are in place and the national security of the United States will not be compromised, he said.

Our rabid friends on the left tell us there’s a lot of prisoners in Gitmo who don’t belong there, but I doubt that the Taliban would give away their prized capture for just anyone. You probably won’t hear about who they are from the media exulting over Obama’s “leadership”:

Oh that’s good. They should probably get that “Death to America” attitude out of their system in a year.

While it’s wonderful to have the last captured American prisoner of war released, the devil is in the details, and we don’t really have enough to judge whether this is just another in a long chain of naive stupid decisions by the administration.
