Shooting at Israeli Rally in Los Angeles has Palestinian Counter-Protesters Arrested

la palestinian shooting

From Los Angeles, the details are still emerging from a shooting at a rally for Israel where Palestinian counter-protesters showed up.

A local report:

Gunshots were fired at a pro-Israel rally in front of the Federal Building in Westwood Sunday, officials said.

It is not immediately clear who fired the gunshots, or if there were any injuries.

Thousands turned out to the protest, including several hundred pro-Palestinian counter-protesters who decried the treatment of residents of Gaza by the Israelis.

UPDATE:

Another report fills in some details:

Several men were detained at a pro-Israel peace rally in front of the Federal Building in Westwood Sunday after pro-Palestinian protesters also turned up and the two sides clashed.

Witnesses said there was a scuffle between several men draped in Palestinian flags and pro-Israel protesters.

As several of the men tried to leave the scene, at least one gunshot was fired at the truck by a Department of Homeland Security agent, police confirmed to NBC4.

No one was struck by the gunfire.

I’ll update with more info as it comes in.
