Longshoremen Union Choking Americans While They’re Already Hurting
I am definitely not on the side of the longshoremen on this issue of hurting Americans so that they can avoid mechanization at our ports.
Especially when they argue that they’re indispensable. So which is it?
Perhaps the union gleefully crippling our economy and hurting Americans is exactly why we should allow automation, so that they can’t continue to threaten us.
Some other stuff to consider:
I once spent 45 minutes negotiating with an ILA linehandler to move my ship’s hawser (fancy word for a thick rope) 10 feet.
10 feet
But sure Jason, with 800k followers, you’ll *definitely* move the needle with a

Harold Daggett, the ILA boss who pledged to "cripple" the United States, owns a 76-foot yacht, a Bentley, and gets paid over $900,000.

And by the way, Biden has the power to shut all of this down, but he won’t.
