BREAKING: Darrell Issa Issues Subpoena To John Kerry to Testify Over Benghazi
After new revelations from emails released supporting the theory that the White House had a hand in crafting the Benghazi talking points, congressman Darrell Issa has issued a subpoena for State Department Secretary John Kerry to testify about their response to the investigation:
Today I announced a subpoena requiring Secretary Kerry to testify at a public @GOPoversight hearing on May 21. #Benghazi

State Dept's response to congressional investigation of #Benghazi has shown a disturbing disregard for its legal obligations to Congress.

Compliance with a subpoena for documents is not a game. The State Dept has failed to meet its legal obligations. #Benghazi

It is because the State Dept has failed to meet its legal obligations that I have issued a subpoena to Secretary Kerry. #Benghazi

Secretary Kerry must answer questions about the State Dept's response to the congressional investigation. #Benghazi

The State Dept is not entitled to delay responsive materials because it is embarrassing or implicates senior officials. #Benghazi

Yesterday, BGen Lovell testified that the State Dept never asked military forces to go save Americans in #Benghazi during the attack.

I expect Sec Kerry to identify docs the Dept is withholding, has delayed, or has simply avoided searching for. #Benghazi

We’re sure to see some fireworks when Kerry testifies – unless he suddenly gets sick like Hillary did before her testimony. Or he could be too busy screwing up our foreign policy – that takes a lot of time and energy!
